Five cozy games for the end of a long day
Not every game needs to be a challenge. Some evenings you just want something soft and undemanding, and the mobile store is quietly full of games built for exactly that.
Paddock Pioneer is the clearest example: a farm sim with no deadlines where the whole point is a gentle daily routine. Skybound Ruins scratches a similar itch with its drifting islands and calm puzzles.
The thing these games share is that they never punish you for stepping away. You can ignore them for a week and come back with nothing lost. That alone makes them easier to live with than games that nag you to return.
My routine lately is one short session of a cozy game before sleep, sound on low, no leaderboards, no goals. It works better than doomscrolling, which is a low bar, but it clears there easily.
